My family relocated from Lancaster PA in 2012, ultimately landing here in Wake Forest for the last 5 years, after initially setting up in Wakefield Plantation. We (the family) are composed of super mom Catherine (and VA Nursing supervisor), our four! children, the in-laws Steve & Maria, as well as Barkley... our wavy coated goldendoodle...all under one roof, as only the Greeks would have it. It's no wonder why 'Grease' is still one of Tom's all-time favorite movies.
We are an 'All in the Family', multi-generational household.
You might see me attempting to go in four different directions (our kids certainly have that effect), but don't let that stop you from inquiring what Tom can do for you and the Town of Wake Forest as your next commissioner!
I am a planner, with an extensive history in Town and Land Planning. I received my AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) designation from the American Planning Association (APA), way back in 2007. I have worked in various capacities for Ray Ott & Associates, a planning firm located in West Chester, PA, since 1999.
Although the firm and its owner Ray Ott has subsequently retired in the last year, the wealth of knowledge, experience, and actions taken in communities within the Delaware Valley region is substantial, seconded only to the diverse range of projects the company undertook. If you'd like to see some specifics, check here.
The private firm served various municipalities from the company's inception, including most notably Phoenixville, West Chester, and East Vincent Townships respectively.
Each community had its own unique opportunities and constraints when it came to growth, economic revitalization, recreation, and public services. These experiences serve as a solid base for serving you and the Town of Wake Forest as your next commissioner.
We were also responsible for various Community (Comprehensive) Plans throughout the Delaware Valley region, if my memory serves me correctly, close to a dozen of these communities we had provided visioning for, with each community providing their own unique opportunities and constraints to contend with.
I also worked for the Town of Cary within their Transportation and Facilities Department for the better part of 5 years, where I spent much of my time supporting existing and proposed facilities in the Town, making things like this. Through that wealth of experience, I came to admire the great greenway system Cary has in-place for it's community there and hope to utilize that experience here for us in Wake Forest.
I also am a licensed Real Estate Broker, and hang my license with Pittman and Associates Realtors, a long time Real Estate firm that has been in business here in the Triangle for over 40 years.
